Sunday evening wrap up...

By Mike Hall
Great day!!!

I can't believe it is August!  The weather is almost Fall like and things at church are almost like summer never happened!

  • Good attendance again today... in the 270's.

  • More new first time guests!

  • My message, "Connection Central", hit hard at the thought of everyone in the Church being in a small group.  I am so convinced that we have to do more than the large gathering on the weekend!  We desperately need to be interdependent and inter-relating!

  • Two weeks from now we start signing up for the new round of LifeGroups for the Fall.  Get ready to get in one if you are not already.  If you are in one, go out of your way to invite others to yours!!

  • I spent two completely satisfying hours in the woods today!  I walked a trail along the Susquehanna River, just below the Conowingo Dam.  I really enjoyed the solitude... it was refreshing.  I saw a deer feeding about 50 yards away and passed a squirrel on the ground only 8 feet away.  I saw the remnants of an old canal from the 1800's.  Best of all, I just relaxed, thought about what I wanted to think about at the moment, and enjoyed God's beautiful creation.  I highly recommend walking out in the woods!

  • 5 people were baptized yesterday at our Annual Church Picnic!  That brings the total for the year to 34!  More to come in October, November, and December!

  • My 5K race went very well yesterday!  The resultsOpen in a new window are posted on a website.  You can check them out.  Allison and I both ran in it.  Allison came in 52nd out of 226 overall and was 3rd in her division.  Her time was 25 minutes, 41 seconds.   I came in 14th overall and was 2nd in my division with a time of 22 minutes 7 seconds.  That was my personal best.  We had a great time and the weather was perfect!  Our next race is on October 11... Allison is running the 5K and I am running the Half Marathon.  More later...
