That 7 AM meeting this morning with the other two pastors and five men in our church was full of good energy! We, the pastors, are spending time every other week in our meeting with six men. They bless and encourage me regularly! Our discussion this morning centered around teamwork, (see the post on this blog for Friday, June 6), and the upcoming One Prayer series this month.
The worship band did a new song today that is destined to become a classic at LifeBridge! God Of This City, a Chris Tomlin song, is powerful! It speaks our heart and vision...
I poured out my heart today as I spoke on "Make Us Unique!". We are praying this month that the Church will live out the uniqueness that is ours in Christ. We are different from the world and lights in the world. God help us to live holy and to be engaged with the people of this world that are far from God! (More on that this week as I blog... stay tuned!)
Got to see my dear Mom for awhile today. Pray for her. She is struggling with grief and loneliness, missing her life partner of 54 years. She is leaning on the Lord, but life is just hard right now...
I also got to see a friend, Dale Welsh, from our old church youth group days in Perryman, MD. His Mom passed away and he was up from Georgia. I am doing her funeral tomorrow morning. Dale is a Baptist pastor and is a great guy! I met his six children for the first time tonight and was impressed. Great family! There are several of us from that youth group of the 1970's who are in full time ministry. Several more serve in volunteer capacities in various churches.
Looking forward to jogging this week as I continue training for the half marathon in the Baltimore Running Festival in October and the 5K race at the River Valley Run in August. I logged 31 miles last week and am going to try to match that again this week. Anyone out there want to jog in the mornings?
That is so kind of you to invite everyone to jog for miles and miles and miles and miles in the mornings. As awesome as that sounds, I'm gonna have to pass UP the offer. Otherwise I would probably pass OUT on the road! ... LOL ... WOW 31 miles, Im inspired just knowing someone that can jog that far! your so cool! my prayers for you to match or beat 31 miles this week are with you! keep us posted on how you do with it! PS ... I loved Sundays Service!

You better be careful in this horrible heat and humidity with your runs! Take care of yourself and pace yourself this week. Hopefully you're running very, very early in the mornings before the humidity takes over! Thanks for the invitation to run with you - but I, like Michele, will definitely pass on that. I too admire your passion and committment to doing something like this - that is awesome! Maybe someday I'll have a desire to run for a bit!
Definitely looking forward to Friday night! Prayer is such an intimate moment with the Lord and with others!

I would love to run with you, but with work I would need to start very early. Also know I would be left in the dust!!!!So I try to get to gym after work and run on treadmill (I mean actually walk very fast on treadmill). Thanks though for the invite:) God has really been working in my life. He has relocated me in an office with Commercial loan officers. I had one approach me on Friday and asked if I were a "cusser" and I told him no but that I was a Christian and since his office is close to mine will hear WRBS coming from my office. Well by the end of the day he stopped to tell me I must be having an influence on him cause he hadn't cussed since. Praise God, I soooo want HIM to use me to reach and show the Love of Christ. Time is fleeing and the WORD has to get out.
I will truly pray for your Mom. She has truly made me take advantage of the time Frank and I have. Hug a little more, love a little deeper.
