In previous posts, I've talked about the need to ABE, always be evaluating, in our lives. Whether it's in our relationships, finances, work, spiritual, or physical situation, we have to be careful not to become complacent and accept the status quo. That is one step from dead!!!
When I evaluate a certain area of my life, I can almost always see room for improvement... ok, always!
Recently, I took a look at two particular areas in my life. I saw some deficiencies in both areas. One of those was in the area of my personal walk with God. I am now trying to address the deficiency I saw there. I am not yet where I want to be with it, but I am moving in a right direction. I am in process, not accepting the status quo. I am making a fairly small course correction which can lead to big results in my walk with God.
In the other area of my life where I saw a deficiency, I set a small daily goal for myself. I decided, based on something I heard from a respected "mentor", to do something different in order to get different results! You have probably heard that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results! If you want different results, you will need to do something differently!
Are you becoming complacent? Have you settled for less than the best God has for you in some area of your life? Whether you can change your circumstances or not, you can make changes in you! It's not too late! Today is a new day with new opportunities.
Of course, all change has to be the kind that squares up with the Word of God. If you are having a bad year with your spouse, please don't go find a new one! That kind of change is wrong and will lead to dire consequences! Make certain that the changes you make are the right kind of changes!
SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE!!! What is it in your life?
I totally agree with you Pastor Mike! I learned a long time ago that I cannot change other people; I can only change myself. People respond to the changes that I make in my life. Here lately I have learned to totally release what I need changed to the Lord and I am delighted to see Him make those changes. I loved your quote from Albert Einstein! Here is another by him that I really like: "The signficant problems we face from day to day cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them." God bless you Pastor Mike, I love reading your blog. You are an annointed man of God and I continue to look forward to what God is doing through you.
