Let's just do it!

By Mike Hall
I know it's not the easiest or most popular thing to do!

But it is the most powerful thing we can do and Satan knows it!  That's why he will do everything he can to discourage us from it.

The "it" is prayer.  The Scripture is clear...  "Pray without ceasing."  I Thessalonians 5:17  "Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;"  Colossians 4:2

This month we are praying together as a church.  We are leaning hard into God, learning dependence on Him!  That is why we communicate with God, to acknowledge our need for Him.  He already knows what we need before we ask, we are not informing Him!  Prayer is for our benefit, to teach us dependence.

Prayer works!  Matthew 7:7 says, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."  James 5:16b tells us, "...The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much."

Although God is not our servant to do our every bidding, (He is the all powerful ruler of everything and everyone!), He is our Father.  He loves us and will give us what is best for us.  He wants to do mighty things in us and through us and then get the credit for it!

Will you join us in prayer this month?  Here are two ways to participate...

  • Pray personally and privately everyday.  Follow this blog for more!

  • Join us at the LifeBridge Church facility this Friday beginning at 6 PM for the 24 hour prayer vigil!  We are asking people to come and pray, alone or with others, filling half hour time slots.  Email meOpen in a new window with the time you will pray there.

I am eagerly anticipating what God will do through this!  There are presently 1396 churches around the world that are praying with us for the Body of Christ in One PrayerOpen in a new window
