This past Sunday we had three adults trust Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! Two were in their 50's, one in their 30's.
I never ever get tired of hearing news like that! It is why we are here on this earth! Our mission from God is to share the Good News and make disciples.
A disciple is a follower of Christ. You often read or hear me use the term "Christ follower". That is what a true Christian is... one who follows Jesus with their life.
It begins when they make a profession of faith, turning from a life of sin to receive the precious gift of eternal life, Christ's life. It continues as they walk with Him, learning from Him and becoming like Him. That is a life long process.
I love observing that beginning... that profession or confession of faith! Some call it being "saved" or "born again". Those are biblical words that express the start of a new life, a new relationship with God, the entrance into God's forever family.
Do all who make a "profession" really get saved or born again? Of course not!!! Jesus Himself made that clear in Matthew 13 in the parable of the sower!
However, it is not my job to decide who really meant it and who didn't. I rejoice in all of them and let God sort them out! That's His job! My job is to offer them the Word of God and my support, and then see if they receive it and act on it from there.
I have no problem sharing the number of people who make professions of faith and rejoicing over them! Come rejoice with me!
