This week is shaping up to be "family week" on my blog!
Today would have been 54 years of marriage. On July 31, 1954, Troy and Wilma Hall made a covenant of marriage that lasted! My Dad and Mom were faithful to each other until death parted them on April 11, 2008.
Their marriage, like any, was not perfect, but it was a very good one! They loved to be together and were inseparable in the last 20 years, after my Dad retired from Chrysler. They ministered together in churches and nursing homes and anywhere else they had opportunity. They enjoyed some travel in the States. They loved to just go for a ride and find a place to eat out.
They were comfortable together and could talk with each other. Some marriages lack that, especially after the empty nest.
My Mom misses him terribly, but she is very thankful for all those good years.
I am sooooo thankful for the God given blessing of having a set of parents like that and do not take it for granted. I pray that I will follow their example in my marriage.
AMBER UPDATE: Amber is still in the emergency room at the hospital. She is waiting to either be released tonight or not. She is sleeping a lot. She may have surgery tomorrow. The hospital has agreed to replace the teeth to our satisfaction. I believe they realize their negligence in the situation. Thanks for your continued prayers!
