Here's an acronym that should be a part of anyone's life that wants to be fruitful...
ABE... Always Be Evaluating!
Honestly, it's uncomfortable to be evaluated, whether I'm doing it to myself or someone else is doing it to me. I like to think that all is well all the time in my life and work. But that is not the case! There is always room for improvement!
If I want the same results I am now getting, I can just keep on being and doing what I am. However, if I want to be better or do better, I need to be willing to keep growing and changing!
This applies to our relationships, our jobs and businesses, as well as our physical, financial, and spiritual life. We need to make evaluation a normal part of our life. That means that we take time to do a personal inventory on a regular basis. It also means that we have others around us who will give us honest and caring input regularly.
I don't want to settle for the same results, however good they may seem to be! Progress is directly tied to evaluation and the changes we make as a result of evaluation!
On another note... this blog from Pastor Perry Noble today is a must read!!!
On still another note... I ran a 6K race on July 4 and had a great time! It was a last minute entry. I was told about it the day before by my friend Steve, the owner-operator of a local Chick-Fil-A. I had already jogged 30 miles last week, something I would not have done if I knew I was going to race. However, the race went well. I finished 86th out of 466 runners, with a race time of 27 minutes, 38 seconds. To see the official results, go here.
